The color balance on this looks way off. Way to magenta.

well sorry about your perfect color balance, but I'm no professional. just a fun hobby.

Re: New film photos (infinityman)

looking at your prints I'd be inclined to say that part of your problem stems from underexposure... you don't have a really good black in any of those shots... which says that they were 'underprinted' - meaning underexposed when printed so you could still get a reasonable image. That type of print tends to accentuate the grain in images especially in the shadows. Colour balance is something easily fixed with film - underexposure isn't.... not as much exposure latitude, depending in the film used. OVERexposure with negs isn't all that bad, UNDERexposure with transparency is ok. Vice versa with each film type is where you run into problems.
I wouldn't say they were too magenta (I'm using a calibrated monitor - you still have decent greens - magenta kills green)- more on the red/yellow - too warm side... perhaps posting in the photography community might get some other's thoughts for you on this.

yeah, any tips on how to get them properly exposed? they were shot with a 28mm wide angle lense witha n ae-1 program with 200 speed film.

Re: New film photos (infinityman)

the meter on the AE-1 is pretty general and should give you a decent exposure most of the time... you don't have anything big and white or really light smack dab in the middle of the shots (the usual cause for underexposure). Keep in mind that a light meter in a camera is always trying to make whatever it looks at come out as a middle grey - if you shoot a white piece of paper in sunlight at noon filling the frame, it'll be grey, not white.
Perhaps shoot using manual exposure mode and bracket your exposures... leaning towards over exposure rather than under... if the underexposure persists, you might want to a) think about getting the camera looked at b) check with your lab (use a quality shop, not Walmart) or c) switch to digital
