Alternative AF gauge install

From what I've read for an AWW you have to weld another O2 sensor bung into the DP because the voltage from the stock O2 sensor is different and will fry the gauge. This sounds like alot of work especially for us DIYers. So what I was wondering is if there is any kind of electrical part that you can place inline with the gauge and sensor to convert the voltage. I want to say the part I'm thinking of is called a resistor but for some reason I don't think that is right.
Could something like that work and if so what part would it be?

i had the same question so i went to radioshack. they said i had to get some sort of mini transformer thing that would have cost me more than like 2 more O2 sensors.
i love and hate radioshack.
