A/C Question....

I have a 1998 Jetta 2.0L. The problem that i have with the A/C is that when i turn on the a/c the car starts to rev up and down. When driving on the freeway the a/c works perfect until i have to clutch in and shift down the gear the car will turn off while driving. Just wondering if anyone had any idea how to fix this problem. Thanks

too much of a load on the motor. you might be looking to get a new compressor. or you could take it somewhere and make sure there is enough oil in the system.

I think I have posted this 5 times in the last 24 hours. Dubs and the heat are NOT a match made in heaven. Check for vacuum leaks first. That is probably what is causing the surging in rpms. Second, don't drive in the hottest times of the day. I would be highly suprised if both of those don't remedy your problem.
