You've gotta look closer...
At first glance it has serious potential...

But then goes downhill from there...
That's the rear light (upside-down) from a Buick Skylark, if I recall correctly. More precisely, it's a cheap aftermarket replacement light for a Pontiac Sundance.:

Rivits:

Obvious problems, but also notice the poor rims:

All that (misguided) effort in the back, and he didn't bother to shave:

This looks a lot better in the pic than it did in real life. Notice the overspray on the door panel tho:

Edit: Woah, definitely the wrong source for that rear light. Fixed now.

I wonder how far he made it with only 3 wheel bolts before he lost the rim?

At any glance, the only potential shown by either of these is the possibility of being poster children for what NOT to do.

Not that I think that either one of those A2's are good (the yellow one had a chance), but I have a question for all you guys. I'm kinda new to this whole A2 scene but do you guys like anything that is different from what you do?

I obviously can't speak for everybody, but here's my take on the whole issue.
I respect anyone's car, so long at its enthusiast in nature and was done with the best of intentions. For example...
Say someone mounts up the fugliest, most bulbous, facia on their Jetta or Golf. I mean this thing makes the RS bumper look like a dinghy next to the Titanic. If the job was done right (quality, craftsmanship, etc) than I will appreciate the work. I don't have to like it, but I definately can appreciate it.
But in the case of that yellow golf, it just makes me feel sick that someone could butcher a car to that extent. The door panels with the overspray? I looked for a month for those style panels with the pocket mounted speakers. That freakin' chonch spray painted them!

So do you see what I'm getting at? Had that golf not had riveted on bumpers, scraped wheels with 3 lugs, ans spraypainted doors, yeah, I might have nicer things to say about it.
Hell, my car isn't much to look at, but most people can appreciate the amount of work that was done engine-wise. I respect the low dollar enthusiast. I have no compassion for the rich half-assed butcher.
Was that too harsh? Sorry.
EDIT: I do like the hood and fenders on that golf, though.
