I looked around and I haven't found info on this. I wondering what short shifter to get, are the special characteristics of this one or that one, or is one clearly superior. I have a 99 MKIII Jetta Wolf.
Appreciate any feedback.

Re: 2.0 Short Shifter??? (RobbieIG)

I have a Eurosport one, which is similar / the same as the Neuspeed one I believe. It's okay but I find the overall shift EFFORT to be higher than stock, even though the throw is shorter.
I think that the Autotech one might be better because it replaces a different part, but I'm not sure.

That is what made me go for the Autotech one originally. One thing I recommend though is to replace all of the your shifter bushings if you have high miles and plan on racing a lot. I just trashed the big bushing on the shifter at the track.

Re: 2.0 Short Shifter??? (A3Jetta)

I have a Eurosport shifter on my 98 Golf...shifting feels great but requires more effort which I like. Overall though...it's fairly cheap and easy to install.

most of the mkIII shift kits are all the same. I have a neuspeed one but only cuz i got it as a gift. I would have gone with TT if i had to pay for it. But i saw some good ones that are different only for mkIV in rocky mountain motor works

I'm using my autotech one from my A2 and it works perfectly. Actually better than a buddy's A3 NS one. That being said, contact aburchell44
(aburchell44@hotmail.com) he makes them, and I think he charges somewhere around the ballpark of $40USD.

AutoTech Short Shifter all the way .... I've been riding mine for about 1.5 years now .... I love it .... never had any problems & it in my daily driver. I can't drive without the 50% less throw !!!
Good Luck http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
