i have a 2000 audi s4 with the apr chip. i heard the giac software is more agreesive and has more performance i was wondering if its worth getting rid of my apr chip n getting the giac. Also my s4 only runs like 15psi with apr and drops down to about 12 at redline, does the giac have the same problem or is the just becasue the internal wastegate?

ur having issues with ur car then i have the apr 93 octane chip and i run 18-20 psi depending on what gear im in. U probably have a boost leak somewhere u need to take a look at. And its not a noticable difference between chips thiers no reason to switch for 500 dollars

would giac be more detramental to the turbos than apr for the fuel and ignition curves or does apr hut the turbo's worse. What would be great would to be to get people out and do 1/4 times with all these chips with same drive to see which one is actually faster

Why didn't I see a REVO chip in that comparo.
I live 200+ miles from ANY dealer for chips, so the whole "go with what's close to you' argument doesn't work because no matter what I have to make a day of it. I'm mostly interested in GIAC vs REVO as they're supposed to be the top two big number companies. Reliability - is there any major difference among all the brands?

All they do is chip tuning. All their money, time, and effort goes into one product. APR has to spread their money out over a whole line of products for R&D. It's a no brainer if you ask me.

That comparison is from 03, the programming from all of those companies has changed since then...

Ive read from various ppl online that GIAC is more likely to blow your turbos, and apr is not. However a lot of other things go into making that claim, but the giac is more aggressive while the apr is smoother.
My car came with APR software, i like it, and dont plan on changing. I just need the update, or newest version cause i have the original software from 2000

I really have no idea, other than im sure they have made improvements since their first version of the software.

i did the revo trial and i was just vicious. however i also tried apr, and i was wasnt really diggin it. i havent tried giac. im pretty sure my ecu hates me but im so close to stage 3.
