When the low fuel light comes on, how many more miles do you usually have til its empty?
I know my tank is around 14 gallons, but when I fill up(right after light goes on), I only put 10-11 gallons in. Does my car have a ton more mileage left?

When the fuel light comes on, there is approx. 1.8 gallons left. (Thats the "reserve" size anyway.) A stock tank is 14.5 gallons, so at the time the light comes on you've gone through 12.7 gallons.
I's place a safe bet that, driving mundanely, you could go another 50 miles when the light comes on.

I gone 5 days on "e" before breaking down. I mean I was on the 3rd day to the point the needle wouldnt move. And I've traveled on E plenty of times. 50 miles is good estimate.

Car has only ran outta gas twice cause I pushed it. Thank gawd for AAA and being 5 miles from a rest stop

Just try to keep it to a minimium. Its good practice to never go below a quarter tank. The gas acts as a heat sink for the pump

Especially in winter months if you live up north.... running out of fuel in the middle of nowhere can SUCK real bad in a storm or the such....
