I am going to be getting a FMIC within the next month and i wanna go with GReddy, and i was wondering do you actually feel a difference in ANYTHING with a FMIC? Smoother acceleration? Engine running smoother? More HP/TQ. Any input would be helpful. Also are these differences different with the bigger core ie.. 28 vs 31? thanks in advance

Re: Greddy FMIC Q (01MomoGTI)

28 is too large, unless you don't want to use a rebar hahaha...
i have the 31 and it's a great core. you will notice a teeny bit more lag (to fill all those pipes and the core) but it pulls harder for a longer period of time (pretty much no heat soak on a stock turbo

a pic of the sexyness:

do you like intercooler piping sticking out of your lower grilles? If so then greddy is for you.
Just search "greddy fmic". I promise its out there

I hate Greddy. I know a few people that have them and the fitment problems i have heard and seen are not few and far between. EUROJET FTW http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I couldn't have said it better.

Im pretty sure the grilles wouldn't fit back in. Also, from where your sitting you could probably see them. Well not really, but you get the point.

yeah only thing that sucks about fmic's is chopping up the bumper....i dont get how some people can still put in the inserts after the FMIC is installed...instane.
Eric from SETuning has the euro bumper and a fmic and still has his inserts in.

Re: Greddy FMIC Q (01MomoGTI)

A larger intercooler is not going to give you more hp/tq. It WILL however allow you to not lose power do to heat. I love my 31v. There is a small pressure drop and as stated above, it makes the car feel a tiny bit laggier (is that even a word? lol). The point again is to not lose power when it is hot out or when you do pull after pull after pull...
by the way, a 31v will be what you want unless you are going with a huge turbo.
and yes, it will require som TLC to get it to fit just right. Cutting the rebar sucks, but I feel better with my slightly cut rebar than I would with the little piece of pipe that eurojet gives you.
oh, and if you have an aftermarket bumper or valence, you can mount it upside down and not have to cut the rebar at all. The 20thAE/337 will fit that way. Do some searching man, you will find tons of info that way and may find that gReddy is not for you after all.. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

ahha they do not stick out past the damn bumper. if i trimmed the grill inserts i could fit them back on. i just don't want to hack them up, and i like the exposed piping.

i cut my inserts a bit and then popped them back in

Re: (theyjustcallmesir)

I'm running the 31 core and it fits nicely behind that bumper with a lil trimming. Perfomance wise the car pull much stronger, doesn't pull that much timing, and way better cooling compare to the old side mount(heat soak like a mofo)
Btw, I'm running a e-bay charge pipes with the greddy.. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif My set up only cost me $250..
