so I finally received my manifold after a $125 shipping charge
Image
and well im not too happy. #1 there is no gasket included like they stated before....which i thought was part of the reason for the looooooooooooooong wait
Image
oh well no big deal really.
#2: now my dilema is that i have no use for the manifold anymore. I sold the motor that is was going on since i am trying to buy a house:

I still have the Stage 1 VF R32 but i didnt want to use it on that car because i feel like it would just make a mess for me.
My last option is just just sell the thing but i really dont want to. i guess i can use it as a tree ornimant

well ya. i guess this whole rant was pointless but i thought i would show a picture of the fabeled creatures that do exhist

Re: Got my CVP Manifold today.....need some opinions (PowerDubs)

i had no intentions of using it for NA purposes that would be stupid.
People who believe that a VR will make "good" gains from a short runner NA are just plain out for a loop. Foffa says u can, but its a bunch of sh*!.
there has never been a case of more than 30% of the RPM range gaining power. maybe on a 2.0 but never a VR.
On FI it will do fine though.

I can't wait to hear Marcell's spin on why there are no gaskets.
As for opinions.. a picture is worth a thousand words.

you keep posting that, but were the cars dyno'ed on the same day on the same dyno?

otherwise, you can post a dyno from Forza two and make comparisons

alright enough of the NA talk. i already said NA sucks with short runners, so we can drop that. I knew that when i bought it, even before the dynos were posted.
anyways im off to bed. this would look sick with the SC though. maybe ill do a custom set up on that car and up the boost

Yea.. I'm done.. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Throw it on the VF setup, I would be interested in seeing the results.

OoooOOOoOOo this will turn into a debate now.

Re: Got my CVP Manifold today.....need some opinions (elliMX191)

If you don't need it, sell it to an FI person. Anyone going larger than 500 cc injectors will need a short runner, so there's a market out there for these. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

You have just showed you now zero about tuning.
runner lenght is tuned for specific RPM regardless of BOOST or Non-boosted setup.Same gains as can be done on NA cars will be had like 5hp+30psi = 15hp

So if the CVP have loss vs OEM it will still have it VS the VF-charger kit that still run the VARIO OEM manifold without locking the switcher arm like most turbo setups do with oem mani.

Re: Got my CVP Manifold today.....need some opinions (elliMX191)

Here is Phatvw´s summary of the custom cams and custom intake, head ,and header tuned for max rpm.
Same car mad 600Hp@30psi
Competitior HGP and Rothe on OEM cams and intake made 450Hp
So ill guess 150Hp is just bull****?
And 135Mph trap is bull**** also.
Tuning works ..... if you know what to do and why you do it.
Concept tuning is the way to go.
Here is Phatvw´s summary

Re: Got my CVP Manifold today.....need some opinions (foffa2002@home)

that is still on a FI car. please show me a huge gain on a NA car. It has been tried too many times on a 12v and the same thing will happen on a 24v. IT WONT happen.
You are right about the power curve this manifold will give you though. even in FI it will show the "same" king of gains, BUT with FI you can compensate for those gains and then use that extra top end this mani gives you....for example smaller turbo cars like the HPA cars (not that the turbo is too small but its no GT35) will benefit alot from this because their turbo will compensate the low end loss while being able to use the manifolds top end resulting in a better power delivery. this is what happened to me on my 12v and i dont see any reason to believe it wont happen on an R32
you know what though i just dont care anymore. Unless you can show me NA gains then there is no point for you to be in my thread. IF there is a manifold that can be made that will make gains then you are missing out on a large fortune

The dyno is on N/A car before turbo went on.
All mods are tested N/A and then tested with boost.
So you dont belive in intake manifold tuning ?
How do you think the MK4 intake found 30lb of TQ ?
This is just basic runner lenght tuning and it can be done for any rpm.
Im no company so i dont mass produce.
All manifolds i make are for my own setups because they are not cheap and a one of product are always made for a specific setup.
Cams, revline, valve size ,port size, gearbox ,exhaust runner lenght and compression ratio and bore all come in to play so no other setup can use the same intake if it doesent mimic the rest.

All info of how to make and what to use are for free.
And so is engine tuning software or spread sheets.
engine calc 2000 and Losers excel can be downloaded for doing your own calculations before even trying a new product.
Ask Bildon about what software he use and i bet he can give you some nice graphs.
My software is limited to work at the laboraty only
