Hey guys:
I get about 300 miles city driving when I use 92 Octane fuel here in Ohio (using 3/4 of the 14.5 Gallon tank)
I get only about 185-200 when I use 87 Octane fuel.
Do you guys get considerably more, and what should I check to see if there is a problem ?

700 km a tank.. Diesel..

just use 92, even though it cost more, the extra 115 mpt is probably worth it. Besided it's better for your car. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Oh heck yea I only use premium but I am wondering why it's so low on 87 gas
What kind of mileage do you get ?

i used premium(92) the time before my last fillup and got about 375 miles on the total tank (i calculated to count the red line)
but my last fill up i just used reg. (87) and barely got 300...

I actually average 280 to 300 on 87 octane and on 91 (here in Cali) I get 320 +

grrr my car is a gas guzzler

I guess i should check the O2 sensor and other things

if you have a chip you should be using whatever the manufacturer tells you to use. If you have the stock computer then use the recommended octane in the manual. I think VW is 87. It is made to run off lower octane so higher octane does nothing, also your gas mileage shouldn't change that much with stock chip, that's very odd.

Well my manual recommends 93 octane but for some reason 92 seems to last longer.
My gas mileage phucked up once I removed the airbox. Maybe the stupid cone filter has something to do with it
I just hope it didn't damage the way the MAF sensor works or any other component

I regularly get 400 miles to a tank in my '95 2.0 using 91 octane. I always thought it was kind of weird... not that I'm complaining.
My car has an Autotech chip and Techtonics exhaust.. I guess that helps.
Modding saves money!

i usually get around 400 a tank and i use the middle of the road stuff from chebron mang.

are you guys driving really slow? I am lucky to get 300. My o2 sensors are new, had a tune up about 6 months ago. I dont drive incredibly hard or anything, but I get crappy mileage.

Right now i use the cheapo gas... untill I get my chip
but the way I drive I get about 16mpg.... and my Mom thought i got an economy car

but hey if you drive it just like any other person you will get good millage

Maybe it's the way I drive. I'm pretty conservative I suppose. I generally don't go more than 10 over the speed limit and I don't accelerate much faster than the cars around me when starting from a dead stop.

16 mpg????? jesus! that's awful. My buddy modded his 5.9L durango and got that mileage. You gotta have a gas leak or something....man. U using leaded

I've been getting really vrappy milage too. I have replaced everything I could replace except the cat..... I think I am going to check it out next. If that doesn't work......

Why so many miles???
Is that highway driving???
I do a lot of both more city than highway on 93 octane fuel, and I get 250 miles per tank

I changed the O2 sensor and it stayed the same!!!!
May be clean the TB???
