did you use your stock struts when you had these on? if so did you have any problems at all with them on?

i used koni reds struts, its always recommended to upgrade your struts when you go lower

Will these springs fit on a 2001 VR6 Jetta?
I know some springs are made only for the 4 cylinders and some specifically for the VRs.

I know they will fit a vr but they may sit a little lower than a 4cyl
