Re: garage space is always open for the raddo (artofwar267)

Just make sure it doesn't stay in the garage forever!!!
I'd say do what you have to do to keep it on the road.
Nothing will be worse then when winters over and done with and ur rado is still in the garage not finished......

Play it by pocket, I like that!
That's what I've been doing. Save for a month or two, then decide what it needs the most, do it again next month...

yea ive actually been seein alot of em around here now, its like an uprise. so i got it on the stands and got the front motor mount out...but the front motor mount bracket is broken. got the new bracket but i cant figure out how to get the old one off. any one who s done this job before and would like to shed some light on the subject, all help is appriciated

Re: (artofwar267)

trying to think it's been a while.....three bolts iirc
the trick is jacking the engine up for adequate clearance....
i think i did the long bolt first----lining it up but only tightening it up a bit......then move the engine around until you line up the second smaller bolt.......after thats in you tighten up the long one and do the front one from the top....
i think thats right but im sure someone will correct me...
good luck with your new ride....i'll be picking up a green slc next month with only 80k miles

the last step i think

Re: (artofwar267)

I had to fight tooth and nail to get a garage spot from my father due to the fact that im still at home. We have a 65 Chevelle on one side and had a late 70's suburban on the other......I was able to convince pop that pulling the Sherman tank (aka the suburban) out would be beneficial to both of us.....I just hope it lasts cause the Rado rebuild is goin good so far!
