okay, ive been a mk1 driver my whole life, so this is a little new to me.
-looking for front smoked signals for small bumpers, i've only seen ones for euro bumpers. whats the deal? anyone sell NA bumper sigs?
-i have big fat ugly rubber side trim thats glued on. if i rip that nasty crap off will i have the necessary holes to clip on the regular plastic trim?
dammit, i had a few more to ask also, but i completely forget what they were.
oh yeah, edit...sideskirts. ive got regular 8v flares all around, and like black vinyl crap on the rocker panels. it looks kinda funky with the front lip being that much lower than the sides, what are my sideskirt options? the only ones i can think of are off of a bigbumper car and i doubt those would fit/look right? any pics of smallbumper cars with them?

Re: (Peter_M5)

haha thanks i'll hit up PG. i wanna get some headlight savers also
as for the haters, well...i suppose thats to be expected.

so any info on the side moulding and sideskirts?
from what i've seen i think the new trim will pop on, but i dont wanna rip it all off to reveal the fact i have no holes in the body for trim clips.
and what ive searched for on side skirts says they only fit big bumper cars...
anyone?

You don't have holes for the body moulding under there. What you have is small door, early mk2 moulding, and not only is it glued on with terrible double sided tape that's a PITA to take off, it's also mounted in a different place than the big-door style stuff. If you look at your car, you'll see there's a line across the bottom of the doors, and your trim is mounted below it. On a "big door" car, the trim is clipped in, and mounted above that body line.
Long story short, no, you can't clip the big door style trim onto your car without drilling the appropriate holes and sourcing the hard-to-find clips.
And AFAIK, there is no one who makes smoked signals for north american small bumpers. Either you have to put ugly ass big bumpers on your car and get smoked signals, or get euro bumpers. My small bumper signals are smoked with nightshades, but it looks twice as gay without the smoked signals.
I think you might be able to get away with keeping the flares you have with sideskirts. Really not 100% sure about that one though, I've never looked into it.
Hope that helps. I've only ever had one mk2 and its taught me more than I thought I'd ever learn. Including the reasons why you don't try to put "big door" fenders on your "small door" car - those holes can't be covered up by your small door trim because they're above the body line.
