Re: (VWGLI05)

the only thing that would have saved me would be spiked tires

i've driven in much worse at higher speeds with these tires and have been fine. There's no stopping when it's a solid sheet of ice, i don't care what kind of tread pattern/depth you've got.

Re: (AE_3893)

i hear you on this one, i slid into a brick wall and took off my mirror and clipped my rear quarter panel. Having NO CLUE about body work, i got an estimate to bang out 2 dents and some scratches in the quarter and just new plastic cover for my mirror and they quoted me at $657.23......i used that quote as a cover up to make sure any paint and epoxy didn't get on my table....after about 20 hours of reading and research, i pounded out the dents, glued, sanded, primed and painted my mirror cover- you can't even tell there was a thing wrong with the car. your front end looks like the real problem, that would take some tinkering. but if you fix the wheels and back end yourself, you could save around a grand. Good luck, vortex is full of good tricks to getting your baby back to new.

Re: (anothermk4)

tho i am very upset of your car, but happy you are alright and that it isnt any worse. i must say you are the one out in aristos with your summer shoes on? well i am only guessing but i doubt u had snow tires on them. even if it was all seasons i dont get it. but like i said glad your ok and its not as bad as it could have been

Re: My Heart is Broken :( (AE_3893)

Excuse to roll them fenders. Sale or trade those rims for some big lip.

damage isnt too bad, body shop will have it god as new.
But do us a favor and get some real winter tires.
Starting next year, in my neck of the woods it will be ILLEGAL to drive without dedicated winters...I couldnt be happier.

Re: (MTL20th)

i would love to get a set of dedicated snow tires and toss them on the aristos and get some dish for the summer (i.e. RH, iForged, BBS, etc..) but that involves extra money that i don't have

Re: (AE_3893)

whoa! sorry to see one of my fave cars on the 'tex all dinged up

no idea on the quote, a lot of it will depend on if they have to cut your rear quarter and weld in a new panel or not. I would say get a few estimates and go with the place you think will do the best job; not necessarily the cheapest. Pearl paints are a bitch to match, and with a color as awesome as IY I would go with the shop that seems to be the most competent as far as that goes. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: My Heart is Broken :( (euro_luv)

Rear bumper looks good painted around 150-250 Depending on the shop. Front bumper replacement around 300 plus another couple hundred for the paint (thank god your front valance is ok), Front and Rear Quarter panels We'll I found a front quarter panel for the drivers side for around 150 today in the classifieds. So you may get lucky and find them used for a good price. Doing it at the dealer will cost you a couple g's peiceing it out and getting some help finding the parts you could save yourself a grand and have them spray it in one shot.
