Re: ahh flashing check engine light? (rfiglia)

check your plugs for spark, cause if your coil/distrubtor cap was bad, you could misfiring on more than one or two cylinders, make sure there is no fluid around the plugs that could impede spark.

Re: ahh flashing check engine light? (T-Rod2050)

I just sprayed the coil with water from a spray bottle. The engine light started flashing and the engine misfired. I going to get a coil and wires and plugs. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

2002 Jetta Wagon, 35k miles. The coil has 2 hairline cracks in it. I put black rtv on it for now until my coil comes. I guess the humidity is getting in there and causing the misfire.

most likely it is a coil pack, go get 4 and keep some extra ones in the trunk. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Sounds about right. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

x2

ohh my car has been fixed for days now, but i had the wrong suspect cylinder, was #3 and i thought it would be #2 due to the lean and rich codes
months before, and the oil from the gasket.
