Re: SE MILITARY MEMBERS (capthowdy_1968)

Very Nice to meet you AT1.
How's Jax? I drove threw there just last weekend. I wish I could stop in Jax sometime - and get to experience it.

Re: SE MILITARY MEMBERS (UberCoupe)

Grew up an Air Force brat....
Grand Forks, Hurlburt Field, Reese, Kunsan, Wright-Patt, Eglin
Dad did 25+ years and retired O-6 before joining the ranks of the contractors.....SAIC, Boeing, and a couple others.
I would have gone in, but my eyes started going in junior high and dad said if I couldn't fly, I shouldn't join.

And now they go and change the sight requirements

I got the highest Asvab score in my school in high school.....recruiters bugged the hell out of me all through college. They never had an answer when I asked how long it would take to make 6-figures

does former military count???
Army - just short of 4 years
29V - M/W radio repair
was in S.Korea for a year, then ended up at Ft. Wegotcha...I mean, Huachuca, AZ
Image

Whoa Deb,
I didn't know you were former Military.
I was a 29N (Signal switch repair)
My last duty station was Ft. Wegotchu.

I did 9 years, started at Ft. Lewis, WA, then Ft. Polk, then Camp Casey, Korea; then Ft. Huachuca, AZ ( traveled a lot while I was in Huachuca) Italy, Germany, Africa, Japan, Korea (again) and England

Re: SE MILITARY MEMBERS (breane24)

Army - Active
E-7
94W Electronics Maintenance chief
I'm surprised to see all these 29 series Army MOS'. I was also a 29 series, 29S COMSEC Repair. They've since changed us to 35's and now we're 94's. Oddly enough my last duty station was also Fort Huachuca. I'm currently an "AIT Platoon sergeant". AKA.. the Army's cheap replacement for Drill Sergeants in AIT.

Re: SE MILITARY MEMBERS (Supercharged VR6)

army e-4 twice . don't ask
stationed in friedburg germany until gulf 1 ...
63 E . m1- abrams systems mech .
worked on hummers , het v's . gamma goats . bradleys
but mostly heavy armor . when we got to the gulf we got new tanks .
plastic covers still on the seat s. vera nice .
we got new tanks because we were the welcoming commiteee for the republican guard who were dug in and awaiting our arrival . the rest is history as they say . but if you watch the history of the third armor division on the history channel my company commander( capt kelley ) 2- 67 armor and batallion commander ( col richardson , light col at the time - retired full bird ) are interviewed and give a pretty good account of what went down. i was part of the largest tank battle up to that time in world history .... i do have pictures and it did happen . not proud just glad to be alive
