I had a 06 GLI pkg. 2 manual W/ 29000miles, and I got 17k trade, and got my R for 32K.

Almost the same here. I had an 06 Pkg 2 manual with about 14K miles and I got $17750.

im close to your situation fleuger, mine is an 06 pakg2 manual w/ 14k, I'm appaled at how fast the values dwindled for our car, last december trade-in was close to 20
oh well do u find the r32 is worlds above the gli? and dsg r u getting used to it?

Re: (SickWrathTerror)

I think the R32 is the only way to get a car with as many ammenities as a package 2 GLI, like Dual climate controll, blue tint, headlight washers...ETC. the only thing I truly miss is the compass in the MFD. The R32 makes up for it with the AWD, and awesome engine! The stereo is alot better than the GLI was too. Gas mileage leaves a little to be desired considering the R is only 50 more hp than the GLI. I really liked the fact that when i got into my R32 I didnt have to do anything to it! It doesnt have a 4x4 stance to me anyways, and the exterior skirts are already color matched, it s truly just a sick car!!! Good luck!

Hey Man, I used to LOVE my GLI but I'm telling you, the R is way better!! There is no comparison between the 3.2 and the 2.0. The 3.2 makes the car feel so much more refined and "mature". The AWD is a huge plus for us dealing with ****ty winters.
I love the R and you will too. I thought the DSG wouldn't be as much fun as my manual (I've only owned one other automatic ever) but I do like the DSG a lot and I hardly ever use the steering shifters.
Pull the trigger dude!! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I agree dude, the biggest point for me is AWD not only for winters, but especially to get the power to the ground... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
