I was really getting tired of the whole center of the dash where the stereo and everything is creaking after i ran over the smallest bump so i took everything out, including the mounting bracket for all of it. I was going to go to the dealer and buy a new mounting bracket but my dad was looking at it and could see where all the stress points where on the bracket (where the stereo housing, cup holder, storage pocket or whatever that thing is called, and AC/heat controls were touching) So we put some silicone (i dont know what kind, i'll have to get back to you on that) on all those points and then i just went ahead and put a THIN, VERY THIN layer on any spot where something rests on it and put it all back together and it worked like a charm. If anyone wants some pics on how to do it let me know and ill get some up. You dont really need to take out that whole bracket but its easier.
