Okay.. as I was driving home tonight the engine started to sputter and the CEL was flashing, learned this is a misfire. So I popped the hood and checked the plugs and they're all secure, no visible cracks on the wires or the coil pack. Next order of business was spraying water onto it while running to see if there was any arcing. None.
Is there someway to directly identify the problem so I don't have to replace things that aren't bad?

when this happened to me, it turned out to be moisture getting into the distributer. What fixed the problem was using a gasket from a oil filter that I put underneath the distributer cap and clipped it down. No more flashing CEL.
