Right now on Autotrader there is a United Grey R that was a rebuilt title only cuz of hail damage. It looks perfect, its got RC's on it too. I want it in the worst way. Its got 25k miles and they want 19 for it. Looks awesome.

Hmmmmmmm, if it's the same one, the guy on Ebay claims it absolutely does have hail damage but absolutely does not have a salvage title...... claims his auction keeps getting canceled by Ebay

must be the difference between salvage and rebuilt that Ebay is having heartburn over..

Re: (Arizman3)

I took a look at the one on ebay a couple months ago and thought about it, but there are a few things to consider first.
-Insurance quote for me was the same as my non salvaged/totalled R.
-If something were to happen (crash/stolen etc), I would definitely not
get $20k plus from insurance, since already a salvage title.
-Probably get closer to 10K, but no way to know for sure.
-You have to check with your states DMV to see what their rules are on
cars with salvage titles. The fact that Michigan has approved it,
doesn't mean that you bypass your states' process.
-Finally, you have to trust that it was just hail damage, and nothing else.
All that just seemed like too much of a headache to me, and there
was way too much room to have a problem, so I just forgot about the
car completely.
I do love the look of that ebay car.
I had spoken to the guy who owned it, who had also done all the work
to it, and he seemed to be truthful, but how the heck do you really know!
According to him, the car was completely stripped for the paint work.
Engine and all.
PS- rebuilt/salvage title is the same thing to me....and the same or almost legally I think.

Re: (NY SLC 93)

yes it is the same car on Ebay and autotrader. The owner states that it was hail damage and it is stated on the carfax report. The autotrader car has that polished look intake and missing the engine cover as well. Same car. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
