Just thought I would post this b/cI got very few responses when I asked about power windows, so I assume most people need to know this information! VW electronics are whack!! My power windows stopped working, pulled every fuse, found one broken one. It was labeled, "reverse lights" replaced the fuse and suddenly the windows worked! What 's up with that? Who connects the windows and the reverse lights? And doesn't label it? Also my cruise wasn't working, bet you it works now! Crazy. I love the car but it sure is built funny...germans

I just spent an hour trying to figure why my left headlight was out and I finally looked at the diagram and found that the headlights are fused separately.

yeah they are f...d up my cruise control didnt work for a while and then all of a sudden it just started working also.. sometimes when i put my window down , it goes half way then goes right back up,, weird.

They did that with the fuses; making them conected to two or more completely different things, so that when something important and noticable goes out, you can tell. Your gonna notice if your headlights aren't working, or your radio is dead, its merely saftey as well.

Yeah but why would they not label each fuse accordingly? I shouldn't have to search for it by pulling out each fuse! It seems more an oversight on thier behalf, than an effort to make me notice stuff? Really quite stupid, I've heard that VW's have stupid electronics, now I believe them! Great engine though...

My passenger front kept doing the pinch-protection roll-down on me, had to fight that fk'er to get it up. Then, it stopped working altogether. I take the car to a transmission shop to have the clutch adjusted, get in & test the window again & it works perfectly.
Also, during the winter, the delay on my wipers malfunctions when I first start the car. 10 mins. into the ride, it works perfectly.
I was thinking about taking off the handles & painting them this weekend, but I'm not screwing with this VW anti-theft system - the car is liable to lock itself down.
