anywhere convenient before the cat is fine... before or after the first 02 doesnt matter.

also where is a good place to get power and ground...i spliced into the headlight switch for my boost gauge...is there anywere else in that area that is good

Read the DIY & FAQs, there are spots on the fuse panel under the dash.
