This may be a weird question, but here goes.....
What's everyone's favorite "boring" car under $30k?
By boring I mean a well-equipped, reliable, smooth (even numb), and decidedly unsporty transportation device.

I'll start with a recent favorite of mine, the grossly underappreciated Hyundai Azera:

It's solid, smooth, decently quick, seemingly well-made, feature-laden, and depending on dealership, can be had for around $28k fully-loaded w/ every option (e.g. NAV, memory seating, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing wipers, heated seats, power rear sunshade, etc.) It has also scored very well in quality & reliability studies. The only thing it isn't is exciting to behold or drive. Still, I couldn't help but think to myself: "aside from the badge on the hood, why would anyone spend $8-10k more on an Avalon?"

Toyota Corolla. I think it's pretty well-equipped, but that's a matter of opinion. I think any car with keyless entry, power windows/locks, a CD stereo, air conditioning, and folding seat backs is well equipped.

I like the Avalon too, but it starts at $27k+. With just a few options such as a sunroof, anti-theft system, 50-state emissions it goes for $30k. No heated seats, no leather, no upgraded audio, no fog lights, etc.
Boring indeed!

You're just asking people what Toyota they like the best

IDK, I think Hyundai/Kia does boring pretty well too. Same goes for Honda and certain domestic makes/models (e.g. Mercury, Buick, etc.).
Heck, even a certain German automaker I can think of makes quite a few boring vehicles. *cough, VW, cough*

(That comment was for the guy above....I hate to disappoint)

Now, if anything other than a Corvette is "boring", then you may not distinguish between Honda and Toyota, for example. But general review consensus is that Hondas and Fords tend to be sportier in terms of suspension tuning than Toyotas. Even Hyundai, which seems to target Toyota as their benchmark and comes from a country that prefers even softer suspensions than the US does, has some models or submodels tuned to be sportier handling than the Toyotas in their market class.
Granted, Toyota does offer some "sporty" versions with firmer suspensions (e.g. Prius Touring, Camry SE). But these tend to be quite rare on the road compared to the soft unsporty ones.

i'll have mine with the ecotec and the 09 model sporting the 6-speed auto and new interior please. these are easily the sharpest looking sedans in the segment, although i will admit they are lacking in other areas compared to the camcordimas
