that's because they need to be squeezed in between the panels. trimming the grill down a couple of mm's fixes it
i did it on my custom single round rallye grill (yes i cut up a rallye grill, i'm sorry but it was already broken)

If you loosen the bolt just below the headlights, you can pull out the fender a very small amout (do both sides). That is what I had to do back in the day when I installed my Rallye lights. At first, I thought WTF, the grill doesn't fit and it is OEM.

not yet but i have learned that if i drive over those road reflector things just right the k-frame pulls them right up
