I'm going to be building a 2L 8v turbo (83.5mm in a 3A w/ x-flo head) and I currently have a Supersprint 60mm Gruppe A cat-back exhaust. Target is 250hp or so. Most turbo folks run 2.5" minimum and the 60mm SS is only 2.36"-ish. Wondering if I should move the SS system to the GTi I'm about to buy and buy a Jetex 2.5 later.
Any opinions? Thx, JT

Re: Is a 60mm exhaust diameter enough? (gamblinfool)

you should be fine with the 60mm exhaust. It will make less power than a 2.5" at the same boost levels, but for 250hp it won't be a big restriction compared to a 2.5". If you're gonna buy a new exhaust for your new GTI anyway, just switch them when you get the new exhaust

add a bigger downpipe for quicker spools, i have a 3in GHL to 2.5 TT on back i can tell when i run the 2.5 in for street use, i have an apr ko-4 boost to 25 lb in 3rd real quick
