After long hard thought I have decided not to chip the car for an extra performance tweek. Seems like the cost to benefit ratio is a bit low. I have however decide to have the limiter removed. It absolutely must go, no questions asked, thank you move along now.
So my question is, does anyone know who can do this, what involved and how much it will cost?

Good information. Does that mean you can only get the limiter removed with a chip that does other things as well or can you chip it to only get the limiter removed? Is there a choice?

Re: Gettin the limiter removed (jdub_atl)

probably can discuss with one of the vendors such as giac, revo, etc. to find how this is possible. it's possible with software, but at that point the question is are you saving any of the money you strive to save (by not doing the full reflash). hmmm.

Well Im not stupid. Cant out run him and get away in any car on the road today. Only a bike. So to answer your questions no. Im not that stupid.

I am however stupid enough to want to take this car to a track and see what she can do with no limitations.

So you want to track the car, but don't want to chip it? But do want the speed limiter removed? Why you trying to make things so complicated, just chip it and move on.

i can only think of one "track" that has a long enough straight to allow a stock R32 to get anywhere close to the governed limit of 130mph, ....
and i've run it

Hmm I think you misunderstand. My thinking it a nice simple removal of the limiter. Chipping the car has me worried because of the potential for it to void the warranty. No one seems to know how traceable chipping the car is and if the dealer finds out, how they will react. I figure a simpler change such as only removing the limiter might go by less noticed. But then again I am just guessing. You know I do not expect I would ever do above 130 in this car. It just takes too long to get there where as on the Blackbird its easy to get there in under 10 seconds.

you don't make any sense though...there's no sense is removing the limiter without chipping it. it's as simple as that. why do a mod to your car when you know you aren't going to go over 130 in the first place?

Re: Gettin the limiter removed (boki-san)

Well, yeah. On all-seasons and stock pads the R32 would be dangerous at 130mph even if you could get it there on a track.
With basic track mods (ecu,CBE,pads/fluid,tires) this car should reach very close and possibly a bit over on certain tracks. Just depends on what you are doing with those feet of yours

My MKIV R32 did it! We'll have to see about this new one......

You took the words right out of my mouth. There's not a road course anywhere
in this country where a N/A, unchipped R32 will get above 125.

It is. By chipping.

And you don't think removing the rev limiter and attempting to drive in excess of 130 MPH will be equally warranty voiding? You're thinking about this too much.

Modestly track-prepped R32 plus trip to Wisconsin (Road America)=125mph+
