Kinda looks like they're scheming, no?
Yeah...scheming to come beat up my sweet little cabby...They look like mafia or something about to rush up on me.

Ride is good...I think there is a bushing out, she hates first gear and refuses to go into it. It will be a lot better once Bert installs the short shift, too...
AND once she finally passes inspection so I can get her registered...so I can actually drive her...

Re: (tcfootball)

Just picked this up for the little girl....

Also got underneath to install the shifter bushing kit and I found a K-bar, along with new ball joints, tie rods, and a VERY clean transmission.
Got the TT shifter in and she's shifting like magic! It burns some oil, so I'm going to get in and redo the valve seals and drop in the 2.0 bottom end.
Also picked up a TT 266 cam for her. Still looking for an exhaust / intake solutions but overall I think it'll be a quick little ride with these upgrades. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

If you are going to use a standalone, the VW euro 2E intake manifold is the hot ticket.
Bigger ports, bigger TB. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

If you rock the CIS, I have an extra 3A intake manifold.

Yup, still rockin' CIS. All I'm planning on doing is just the bottom end. Will this still fit on the JH head? If so will I feel any gains up top?

If thats a 3a i believe the answer is yes it will fit a JH head. it will also give you 10:1 compression

Yes.

No.
IIRC, the 3A head has the same valves as the JH and uses the hydraulic lifters.

I'm asking if there is any advantage to the 3a intake. I'm using the JH head for the hydro cam I've got.

No, unless the 3A head is in better shape than your JH head.

I measured the diameter of the non ported ports on a 2E intake manifold compared to a Techtonics Tuning ported JH intake manifold, and they were a bit bigger, about 2% bigger in diameter each.
According to Greg Raven's book, the intake manifold runners are the restrictive tract in these 8V motors.
Just throwing some info at ya. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
