pss9's are supposedly very good for handling if they are not wound all the way down.
are you expecting to handle really well, or go really low?

is there a way to go low and have great handleing?

Re: (ering2010)

H&R's are by far the best coil for the money I have ever run. Weitecs are decent as well. But seriously, there are maybe 2 people on this forum TOPS who care about a proper stable ride... the rest think dumping their car on it's nuts is the cool thing to do and have never driven in a properly suspension-tuned car before.
The best thing to do is ask around and try to take a ride in some buddies cars and then decide what is best for you but for the money, H&R lets you feel the road but doesn't make you want to take a piss every 15 miles.

thats one of the comprimises that factors into a
suspension setup. going low on ANY coilover
will adversely affect handling and reliability
(vr6 oil pans, cv joints, rockers, rub marks) plus, the newly
altered geometry will not allow the designed
suspension to travel the way its supposed to.
I used to go low on koni adjustables, but had
to turn dampers way up to save it from under-
carrige damage. It was rough, bumpy, nut loosening ride.
So it got raised to a mild 1" drop rather tham 2", the gti
was much more fun to drive.

Re: for the future... (ering2010)

You asked for an opinion:
I say if you are going for a nice ride, but not low, the PSS9s would be a good choice. I like my Konis, but wish they road a bit better when as low as they are (all the way). I would go H&R ultra, ultra lows next.
I think ecodes are cool. The city light option is my favorite.
Smoked lights all around is classy.
If you are gonna go with a front euro bumper, match it with a rear, too. Thats the best part, any way.
A VR6 lip spoiler is cool, makes it look lower, and matches the side skirts real nice.
I am not a fan of stagged wheels on a fwd car. I do think 16X9 all around look great. I'd also want my tires (tread) to match.
Tornado Red is such a nice color, but if I was to paint a car that isn't worth more in the original color than any other, I'd pick some other color, just to be different. Guards Red, or Ferrari Red maybe?
So there you have it, my opinion and input on your plans.
Nice looking GTI, by the way. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
