it works if
you know what not to purchase (IE a bumper thats not made of plastic)
your buying small parts that fitment doesnt really matter on (grilles, sidemarkers)
OEM parts are available
You know how to adjust fitment of bodyparts

I've bought lots of used parts off eBay, and it's great for that. Occasionally I've bought something new, but there are a lot of new no-name parts of questionable quality.

Man best thread i've ever seen! Props to ya man! Hell yeah ebay is the perfect place for genuine OEM VW parts dude everything has perfect fitment and it's obviously the best place for parts!

depends on what the part is and what the worth is to you, you can save a ton of bucks on ebay but somtimes you get what you pay for, but there are also some great deals too. I guess I'm no help at all

many people here find great deals on OEM parts on ebay i got OEM black sunvisors for less than $100, a whole OEM 20th pedal set for $60, and OEM black grab handles for $50
i always check ebay for deals on OEM parts
