As per the usual, all done in steel. This time 16 gauge. Also the hood seam was filled, but if you're not familiar with the truck it's off, you'd never know it.
Still needs just a touch more cleanup (hand filing) on the edges, but other than that she's ready to roll and get blasted back into epoxy primer and high build once again. And yes, I know the hood ornament is on crooked. It's just rested on there... And yes, this scoop as well will be made completely functional, thanks to the BBC residing under it.

That's pretty much all you get for that one until it's done. I just wanted to tease some people that have heard / caught a few words here and there about the ol girl getting work done.
edit: for whatever reason that first picture made it look crooked. It's not. Here's proof. Site down the filled bodyline, which is the center line of the hood. You'll also note where the epoxy and high build has been knocked off. I pounded out a small dent and knocked the metal back to address it. That'll get cleaned up and feathered out and reprimed when the same gets done to the scoop.

Re: Another Project teaser (JThw8)

Thanks. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif : I agree, all too often they get booger welded together, warped to hell and wind up failing in no time at all. Sad, really. This one I've got no doubt will hold together and age well.

Nice work Gary. Is there going to be a flapper or something over the opening? It sorta looks like something is dangling down from the inside in the photos. Or will it be a straight shot to the aircleaner?
Oh, and you've got a teensy little dent to address at the leading lower edge of the hood, about 1" off-center to the passenger side. Looks sorta . . . knuckle-shaped. You been punching customer sheetmetal again?

Re: (Wellington P Funk)

Thanks, and funny story about that ding... I was WAY too lazy to address it before I took pictures. Something got dropped on the hood. No biggie, I was just too lazy to take care of it before snapping pictures.

It'll be there, for like 8 more hours, then it'll be worked out with a hammer and dolley and that'll be that.
And there is a trap door that will be going into the hood, which is why that brace is visible. Were it going to be run with an open element cleaner it wouldn't be there, but as it sits, it's needed. Good eye. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
