Hello everyone,
so I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with repairing wheels that have been damaged. I recently acquired a set of wheels, but one of them has curb damage, and another one has a few scratches. Now the damage is all cosmetics and all four wheels are straight as an arrow, but I would not want to put them on my car due to the damage.
Has anyone ever had their wheel repaired? Is it a common request for body shops, or do places like townfair tire offer this service? My other option would be to just buy another wheel, but they are expensive from the factory, and hard to find individually.
Below is a factory picture of the wheel I have.

Thanks much!

I'm no expert but if the wheels are not expensive just replace them. Someone backed into my car and messed up one of of the 16in bio lines on a 06 Jetta and the wheels were about 200 bucks a pop. For what i gather shops just smooth/fill then paint the scratches and rashes.

i usually do it myself. sand them, get some body filler, fill & sand, paint silver and you are good to go. it just costs a little time and some work but its worth it.

That's what I was going to do with my wheel. Then I found out they were clear coated with some really thick clear coat/ plastic that was textured and when it was sanded out it looked like crap.

A quick google search turned up no less than 12 wheel repairs shops in rhode island.
I had to have a wheel repaired a few years ago after I temporarily lost the ability to judge distances and curbed the damn thing. I found a reputable shop here in Houston and for $107.50 after tax the wheel was made new and the tire was remounted and balanced. Well worth the money in my opinion...others may disagree.

It's probably just urethane wheel finish. You can buy it in a spray can at a place like Advance or Autozone.

If the wheel repair staff know what they are doing it is certainly worth it http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
