VW hit a home run as far as I'm concerned...
But why is the roof tilt only? Not enough room for the large roof to slide in?

Can't slide inside... just like the Audi A5 & the new Scirocco. I suprised they did not go after the "spoiler" style sunroof route. |

He said that the CC is far too up-market for a manufacturer to consider an over the roof spoiler type sunroof. VW never considered it, he said. |

If he said that... then I guess the Audi Q7 to be downmarket from the cc. imo, panaramic tilt only is satisfying the trend for panaramic sunroofs--- I rather get a cc or a5 (and Scirocco) without it--- and you get the benefit of less unsprung weight. In addition to the spoiler style, there is also another folding arrangedment for sunroofs, found on the Pontiac G6 sedan and Benz B-class. Cooler and more expensive and prone to leaks. the webasto TVS is interesting... maybe I'll get one, who knows??? But it does have the one-up on Subaru for the double tilt, other than that, it works simlar to that on Subaru Legacy/Outback wagons. |
