you dont need one if your putting in coilovers... just be a man and take a spring in the gut...
but seriously, you dont need one... put your weight on the impact as your loosening the top nut... just go slow and you'll be fine... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

My feeling exactly. I'll check out the schucks up the street.
Thanks,

1000lbs??? you obviously have never done one..having done over 100 suspension swaps..i have yet to use a compresoor to remove a spring..it's not that bad, really..
and if your trusting in those spring clamps that are 2 separate [pieces, i feel for ya...if you are gonna do it, get the claw type compressor that has 4 feet for attatchment..can't go wrong there http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif if you want to remove the front struts, you can come down one night and we can remove them for you if you want, i just don't lend out my tools..

Re: Anyone have a spring compressor I can borrow (spooled_2ltr)

No can do on coming down to the shop. The wife has the car at work. I'm just going to rent some from Schucks up the street. The reason I need one is for the passenger side where just jacking it up and removing the wheel does not give you enough space.
I'm using this as an example/instructions
http://www.nclh.org/car/coilover_howto/ About 2/3 of the way down it talks about the passenger side.

one, no need to remove the sway bar bolts, and also you can drop the passenger side drive axle and it will leave plenty of room to remove the strut..other than that those are pretty good directions..

That's what he's using the spring compressors, to keep the spring and shock compressed to leave more room. Rather than removing the drive axle since he/I don't have the tools to do that.

you can also go to Autozone... think its a $15 refundable deposit... might be $20
