So...I have the 42DD installed and have had a few issues. I had my TT dynoed pre and post install, I netted 30WHP and 30Ftlbs. I will post the plots later. 250WHP and 232 ft/tq
The added torque is very nice, loving it...but...
The problem I am having is a strange engine tone at full throttle between 2500rmp and 5000rmp, the engine seems to step up an octave and the car vibrates slightly. Could this be the haldex system? the engine seem to have no issues during normal operation it is only when I have wide open...
I have a ECU flash from EVOMS which has been faultless for 6 months prior to the 3" DP install, could this be casing me a problem?
Cheers...
I don't want to blow any thing up, any help?

Yea, your butt-dyno is off

Anyway, that drone occurs right when the turbo is at 0 vac/boost. I asked about this cause I had the same thing. Its "normal;" apparently its due to the transition from vac to boost. It was pissing me off, but I got rid of my N249 and now it is almost unnoticeable http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Dyno Plot: http://www.facebook.com/photo....69424
The plots shows before the 3" dp and after. My 1.8225 dynoed at 190 WHP bone stock. I added the EVOM ECU, BB Exhaust, and EVOMS Cold air and picked up 30 WHP. the 42 DD 3" DP then added 30 WHP. The turbo is still the stock Ko4 for now...

Picks of this BB exhaust... I went to the site out of curiosity, but there are no good pics.
Thanks!!

^ 30whp and 30 tq. from just a DP? hitting 300 to the crank with just chip and DP on a k04?
bulllll shhhh1t.

not likely. the closest i think to max out the k04 was lucas aka vwdriver03 / eliTTe (af.com)

Re: (kclax44)

my 42 dp took all day to install, most of the time was spent removing the old dp. i didnt want to unbolt anything, but if you do you can drop it in through the top.
youl be pretty sick over the size of the stock pipes(and the shape)
btw, did anyone get the right combo of spacers on the o2 to not throw the cel?

Re: (kclax44)

as for gains, the dp is good for a conservative 10 the the wheels, depending on who you ask. obviously some people claim 30, thats sick if thats true. With a full turbo back, itl be alot more.
i did my cat back first, and that felt way way better then stock, the dp pushed it alot farther. it even spools faster.

Re: (kclax44)

it is a lil high if you think about it, but his non DP numbers are pretty in line with those types of mods...so either the boost was higher on the the other runs...or something else was added...but I've hit 200 with just an Intake and H Valve that's appx 240 crank. (NO CHIP)
adding a DP, Cat back and CHIP (depending on boost levels)...adding appx another 50-60 crank HP... I don't think it's impossible...and it's not like there's not a plot right there...
the worst is that he could have omitted that he some kind of boost controller

Re: 42 DD 3" down pipe (SquashAZ)

Hi, I am new to posting here though I had the same vibration from my 42DD which was corrected by a Dogbone Mount Kit (black) to reduce engine movement during acceleration.
