i got my guitar through that short program they had going on where if you refer a friend you get one too, well i found someone on vortex accross the country, we exchanged info, and low and behold we both got guitars.

I got mine yesterday minus the devil tail. No worries though...I called VW and they're shipping the tail to me

Also, it took about a month and a half to get mine. I came home and saw the package and thought "wtf is this!?? I didn't order anything!." Then I open the box and was ecstatic

It smells like a petrochemical compound that is offgasing. The closest scent that comes to mind is axle grease or 90 W gear oil.

Its a pretty strong smell, to say the least.

The dealer told me that they didn't give them out anymore, but I got one a month and a half later from VW.

Same here. Came home to the package from KY yesterday and was a happy camper to get the fast.
Stupid me, I thought the dealer gave them out as a promotion with the new Gti's in '06 and '07. Cool stuff.

Yeah i was super confused when i saw the little note from fedex saying they tried to deliver something. Then i called fedex to find out who was shipping something to me and they said it weighed 13 pounds? It was kind of like christmas when i got to open it the next day.
