Re: (GOIN EURO)

Well last night we finally made some more progress. While Pete welded up the IC piping I pulled the oil pan off so he could weld on the oil return bung. I finally got my Tial bov in so we welded the flange to the piping as well. We also ripped out that little vac resevoir that was below the intake manifold, it really helped to clean up the area.
Here are some pics.

Tonight I am going to run the coolant lines, finish up the vac lines, and hopefully fully bolt up the intake manifold.

Re: (DarkSideGTI)

Gonna rip out the SAI stuff?
I like the .:R32 fuel rail a lot better than the 2.8L one.
Man, Pete can weld like nobody's business!

we took out the control valve for it, and the control valve for the IM flapper. Well, we left them electrically connected and snuggled them away. all the plumbing came out. We are going to remove the SAI, and I'm going to machine a billet flange for the head that replaces that flange with the sai and the hose barb. Seems like the cleanest way to do it. The valve is gonna stay on there for right now though we're working in order of most important to least

Old pan welds are always a *()@%@#% on aluminum pans. That one went pretty smooth though.
Arnold apparently wanted us to tap the oil pan- that would have been an amazing 1-2 threads tops. Decided to skip the oil leak and save that for another build.

Re: (rodney_dubs)

Last night I cleaned up the front of the car and bolted the front end back on. there is a ton of room behind these motors and it feels so cramped at the front. I also put the drivers side charge pipe on and installed the BOV. I don't think I am going to be able to install my battery tray so I may need to find another solution for securing the battery. I also installed the ECU and cleaned up the rain tray. It is definitely coming along.

Re: (DarkSideGTI)

Lookin good Nick. I like that wastegate tube, looks slick. I am using a Braille battery tray with a BigCrank ETX18L (EXACT Same Battery as a 15LB Braille but less than half the price). It fits in there really nice and holds down real sold. I dunno if the Braille battery hold down would work for your battery or not but you might want to consider going that route. It cranks & starts my car with NO hesitation so far.
Here is a (crappy) shot of it:

I had the EXT15L on my old car. I did run into a few issues starting my car in extremely cold weather. But that battery was only 190 CCA's. Looks like the 18L is 300 CCA. This Odyssey battery was expensive so I am gonna use it.

Re: (Boardinjew0)

Damn Nick! Way to take it on! I'd like to come check it out. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I hadn't paid much attention to vr6 tuning recently so I checked out the HPA site. HS! $$$$$ Are you and AKA Rodney Dubs keeping track of time and materials?
Tell that Rodney Dubs guy to get a job.

I dont know about the tial man..UNI says the air HAS to be recirculated...My car will not drive at all if the air is no recirculated

Almost all of the BT cars i know of in Salt Lake Area on BT Uni files are running BOV's. I have been in more than one and the cars run great. For example the Integrated Ingineering 337 is running the BT Uni file and a Tial and i know for a fact it is running strong and is very quick. You tried running a bov before with the uni file?

1.8t vs 3.2t

Re: (sean1.8t)

I dont know of any other R32T's around here, but the 2.8L 24v isnt that much different really, I bet the tuning is pretty similar too, and my car runs the Uni 630 software with a TIAL BOV. As stated above I doubt it'd be a problem as its closed in most cases when it would cause a problem (if it is open at idle then THAT is another issue and would cause it to run like crap). Most DV's kind of suck anyways.
