I know it might not be your bag , but I've been looking for Vanagons on some deep wheels and have come up with nothing !!! I just picked up a 84 Wolf and want to know if it can be done and see it if its possible ! I have seen where Borbet has some 16X9s for the Vanagon ( requires an extra long pop out side door braket by ?? , can this be made or do you have to buy theirs ) but haven't seen pics of the rims ON a van . Please help me ! I gotta ride low while the Rado is down !

Does this mean I am going to be a pioneer in the ways of a euro-flavoured vanagon ?? I have some ideas tossing around , but haven't seen any of them actually done . I was thinking of tossing the rounds in favor of the newer aero style lights and throwing a custom bad-look valance on the grill . Also , dropping it as low as possible with ( like mentioned above ) 16X9 Borbets . Custom paint is also in order along with some kind of interior upgrades .
I just can't believe that no one has done any of this yet ! I have searched the net hi & lo and have found zero results . I don't get it ! Is there a problem with doing this to a vanagon ?? Please let me know if I am going to encounter problems if you know of any .

Mine's comin' along as soon as the damn projektzwo kit would get here. Should be any Day. I've already got the pz fogs, pz steering wheel, 17" TSW S5 wheels on 225/50's, Gene Berg short shift & extender, H&R's with Bilsteins, Stereo is going in next. Alpine AINet head unit, MB Quart 5 1/4's in the doors, Infinity 6 1/2's in the back A/C panel, 12" JL Audio sub under the bench seat, & a 500 watt PPI 5 channel amp to run it all. I'm also looking for a VR to swap into it

Sweet pics ! The double cab is bangin ! I'm glad to see that I am not the only ony with an intrest in doing something funky to the vanagon .
How much drop did the H&Rs give you ? I saw them listed on a site somewhere ( I really need to start bookmarking ! ) but it didn't give the drop measurment .

for some reason they dropped my 85 more than my 91. But it isn't a huge drop. about 1 1/2" to 2". I looked into air bags but it would have cost to much to be worth it. & I didn't want to cut my H&R's. Plus I would have had to re-weld the smaller coil on the fronts. I might cut the stock springs from my 85 just to experiment & see what it looks like

Dang those are deep. the flares are funky, kinda like off an 80's American Conversion van!!!
