Has anyone done it? I need new tires and I was thinking of going with a smaller tire and lowering it some more. TIA http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: 215/40/18 or smaller on Karthoums?? (vdublyou)

Problem is with a smaller over diameter, you speedometer and therefore odometer readings will be skewed.
That's a big jump from the OEM tire size.

Re: 215/40/18 or smaller on Karthoums?? (bluefox280)

215/40r18 is only 0.5% smaller than OEM 16" (205/55r16) ... 0.8% smaller than 225/45R17 and 1.3% smaller than 225/40r18
OEM 225/40R18 have more diffrence betwwen OEM steelies than 215 ... but the choice in 215 tires are limited ...

those wheels are et50 and 8" wide, how low are you that your rubbing... with 225

I didn't say I was rubbing, but I can't go as low as I want in the front with a 225/40.

this is where my front is now. no spacers. so stock et50. 215/40/18's

this is the rear. 12.5mm spacers. 215/40/18's

and i am riding on regular H&R coils alllll the way down in the rear and down to my likin in the front. perches still in
