1. Everyone gets hazed their first several posts.
2. You got hosed on the car.
3. If that'd happened to me I would have repaired the panels before posting on the internetz
4. With the rims, if you are trading those honda rims for the Axis og's (fake 2piece http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif ) why is your car floating, shouldn't you still have the tears?

Re: My new gti (MK2noob)

Ok so you did get hosed. Those floors need replacing and that engine better be in tip top shape.
Take the engine out and junk that ****er, sell everything you dont want and put that engine in an 8v mk2.
I bought a 86 gti with a ****ty 16v swap for 900, after dropping more than $3K into it I am wisihing I never bought it. I am too deep in this **** now I am just going to get that ****er running right and looking great.
I must say, mine had hope, I reaaaaally dont see that in your car. And that means a lot comming from mattysull. I was born on hopes and dreams.

and it's a piece because it needs floor pans?

not just the fact that you spent $850 on it when a car in that condition should be sold for $200 max. and thats just because it is a 16v

those things in your springs are used to lift cars. or lower them if you flip and clamp them

x2... the car probably had reverse rake or something

FV-QR

Wow, $850? Not only does it need floor pans, I would bet money it needs other work too.
You bought rims before you even got the car safe? I'd be running those teardrops until you at least got some seats mounted in there securely. What does the interior look like? Does it run? The e-brake obviously doesn't work, otherwise you wouldn't need the piece of wood to keep the car from rolling out of your driveway.
I'm very interested to see the progress. Working on a 60 Impala is FAR different from working on one of these. You may know cars, you just don't know anything about the market for these cars. You paid about 3x (if not more) that what you should have.

i'm not buying rims i'm trading 2 sets of my Honda rims to another Honda guy for a set of real og's, he just needs something to put on his car to sell it back to the dealer.
and if it had reverse rake why would they be in the front? they are cut spring so maybe there there to prevent bottoming out?
