Re: Alternator Rebuilding shop in CT? (FatSean)

I think you are going to have to break down and either get a Bosch rebuild or one from the dealer.
I've had a few experiences with local rebuilds.
I think that there was only about a 10% sucess rate.

Sean, there's a place in New London, CT that has a same-day turnaround with reasonable prices...they're really good, worth the drive. They're called Harley's and they're on Broad Street. Give 'em a call and see what they say. If nothing else, call M+J auto recyclers. HUUUUUGE VW inventory, they might cut you a deal (they're located in Colchester, CT) # is: 800-456-7278

Re: Alternator Rebuilding shop in CT? (HavocRacingVW)

Thanks for the info guys. Turns out some sloppy work i did during the summer came back to bite me. Had an intermittant connection on th ewire that goes from the alt. to the battery. I did it right this time.
Aiderondack (sp) auto parts had it for $220 shipped...brand new no core. That was the best price I found.
