YES! i love my toyota.
and for your nascar fans. most of the engines use OEM spec'd Honda rod and main bearings.. simply because honda make the best bearings.

Re: Japanese parts OEM????WTF??!! (cmitchelli)

Yep, it's a global world today, the tensioner bits are made by NTN (well known bearing company in japan). I find it funny that they come in a box with a German name (Ruhlville?) though. There as good as any, except the original hydraulic tensioner that came on early 1.8T's.

Since when are OEM parts from Japan???

Since far before anyone on this forum was born.
Many Original Equipment Parts on your Volkswagen or Audi were made in Japan.
In fact, what kind of plugs are you running?

Re: Japanese parts OEM????WTF??!! (MJM Autohaus)

ALL the 1.8T tensioners/hydraulic dampeners are OEM japanese.Look at your OEM water pump,it is made with parts from Mexico/Italy?Germany,ALL ON ONE PUMP.
Tiptronic transmissions and DSG are made by Jatco which is OEM supplier for Toyota,so even the transmissions are Japanese.

Re: Japanese parts OEM????WTF??!! (MJM Autohaus)

Not to mention, we have a Genuine OEM Bosch camshaft position sensor here in a BOSCH box that says "Made in China" on it.
Not everything made in Japan is great, not everything made in China is junk, not everything made in the US is great, not everything made in Japan is garbage, not everything made in Mexico is wonderful, not everything made in China is great, not everything made in the US is junk, and not everything made in Germany is perfect. It's all on a case-by-case basis.
