not all 8vs have it, in this case use the punch/.notch on the rear face of the cam sprocket, line it up with the front for the head.

The metal end lines up with the notch in the dizzy.
As I already said, the crankshaft turns twice for every single rotation of the cam and distributor. Turn the bottom end over 1 more rotation and line the punch mark back up, as if by magic the cam and dizzy will be lined up close to or at TDC
