Whats involved fitting a set of mk5 xenons (out of an R32) into a non Xenon mk5 (gti)
Is it just a unit swap?
Are they ballasts integral?
Are they the same connection into the loom
Any VAG Com modification required?

For fitting xenons, autolevelling and washers: http://furmanka.blogspot.com/2007/12/mk5-wiata-ksenonowe-z-samopoziomowaniem.html

headlight, ballasts and bulbs come as one unit. all you need is a pin adaptor for your harness, vag-com changes, and a highline cecm.

The adapter you need is a 10-12 pin adapter. They're available from TM Tuning.
You can also work it with a midline CECM. However, you won't be able to run bi-xenons as this doesn't allow you to connect the 11th pin to the CECM as required to properly operate.

Rozumiesz po polsku?

Auto-leveling and headlight washers are required for HIDs in Europe (auto-leveling for obvious reasons, and washers to prevent HID glare from dirty headlights). Washers are certainly not required for HIDs in the U.S. I don't know about auto-leveling, but I think it should be.

My wife's MCS has the same autoleveling system. If it was not required VW would have removed it with the washers in MY07

I put a pair of GTI HID's in my wolfsburg. Costs other than the headlights (assuming the HID bulbs and ballasts are included) were the 10-12 pin harness adapter, 2 VW repair wires for running the extra wire necessary for Xenon Shutter, and a Highline CECM. I had a midline and could NOT code it for xenons in any way, shape, or form. It has been reported that some can but I cannot personally attest to that.
