Re: Airbox trumpet or horn or whatever you call it............. (Marcoose)

it looks like a trumpet go open your air box you cant miss it.
I have cut my air box in about half and I havent had any problems so far. I ran it with out the "trumpet" for a long time and never had any ill effects ether though.

once you get to the point where the second throttle butterfly opens...it get loud! (especially above 4000 rpm.) in my opinion it's the best intake noise on any vw. (except for the vr of course)

...the whole time, I didn't know what it was. Well I just removed it...yeah, it's a lot louder sounds mean growels kinda. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif The flap that blocks off the tube that goes to the back, you wanna keep that shut right?...so it won't suck in warm air...what else can one do to the airbox besides the trumpet? What does the short vaccuum line do from the lower half to the top half? Can I rip off the line? Where do I put a vacuum plug on? Both sides? Or just top half? TIA.

Those vacuum lines control the warm air flapper.
