Am I the only guy not modding his car???

I love my GLX they way it came from the factory. It's super quiet inside, the ride isn't too harsh, and the tires aren't too noisy. It's tight, quiet and clean.
I promised my wife that I would NOT mod my Jetta with an agreement that I can get a "toy" car to mod the heck out of...like an old muscle car or something

I love reading about all the stuff you guys have done to your cars though!

I'm a little torn right now between modding and leaving things alone. I'm def. on board with engine mods...ie..chips, pipes, intakes. but am not so into the body kits and lower suspension.
I have to drive my car all over the state of NY, including the crappy roads down by Queens, Bronx, Onto Long Island, etc. I'd hate to invest a lot of money lowering a car and putting on a kit, only to have things rip off as I'm driving down some nasty road on the way to a job site.
Kind of a bummer really but......

A ton of people dont mod there cars, but this site was designed to be a place for people to talk about and share your mods and give tips and help with doing mods. So its kind of hard to find someone not modding their car on here because most people sign up after getting the car and doing a first mod, then they come on here to see what else there is to do.

I'm not doing any modding, but like you I enjoy reading about all the wild (and mundane) things people do to their dubs.
I told my father about Vortex and he said even in the early '60s when he had a Beetle VW owners had the reputation of being insane for their cars.
And the flip side of that maniacal love: just a week after he sold the beetle to a friend who was using it on his honeymoon it burned right down to the rubber out on the freeway.

No mods yet for me either ... the only thing I've done that didn't come with the car was tint the windows. Everything else is stock, the way it came, including the rear spoiler.

The only things I want to do to my car are, in order of preference: 1) install the OEM nav system, 2) install a GLX/Euro MFI and 3) install climate control. Hopefully I can get them done over the next year.
I guess these are mods... but they are all OEM. Nothing like exhaust, chip, anything like that.
To me, my car is a fun to drive, luxurious, unique commuter car.
That said, I wish I had gotten a TDI...

I've had more wildly modded car in the past which got old. My MK4 has been modded with that in mind. H&R/Bilsein sport lower but comfortable and 17" wheels great handling with out significant change in ride comfort. Bosal exhaust nice sound without being loud. Then little things like clear corners and momo knob

I haven't modded, although I'm eventually gonna get a chip. Just waiting to see some 24v chip numbers and stories, and to make sure nothing's gonna break b/f I void my warranty

I haven't done much yet but that is because of financial reasons. Otherwise I would exhaust, body kit, rims, susp..list goes on..just like everyone else.

2000 Golf 1.8T original from Germany with 12 000Km no mod at all.
I am just lazy in modding car and mind is 4 door....
Anyway, I better spend money for my Ski rack so I can hit Mont Tremblant with 4 dudes. That is a pretty cool add on (only when the ski is on.)

Only mine said I can mod ours (only can afford one car right now, and she doesn't drive) after the warenty is up.
