i thought someone died from the title of the thread.

X2... as much as it was your project and it is unfortunate that it is wrecked, its just a car and life will go on.

I've got at fault insurance only, and when I got hit, everyone around me was telling me that since it was her fault, its her insurance company that has to take care of everything, (towing, rental car, repairs). As far as an appraisal, its going to get done this week I think...I have bills for the wheels and all other stuff, the only thing I dont have a receipt for is the $2300 I spent at the shop

because I paid cash. Don't quote me exactly on the damage, because the guy was taking a rough estimate, but he hasn't written up the estimate and all yet, but I know it will be in that range.

the only thing her insurance will be doing is fixing her car, should she decide to make a claim.
no fault insurance in ontario means you deal with your own insurance company for damages and repairs.
because she is 100% at fault, you should not expect to pay a dime, not even your deductible, unless you have a non-standard policy. if she is uninsured or if her insurance lapsed however, you will be on the hook for your deductible, regardless of fault.
i hope you've had time to calm down and take a step back to assess the situation so you are able to logically and systematically deal with your loss effectively which ncludes identifying misinformation.

HEY
I had the SAME exact damage on my 92 Jetta! A lady hit my car while backing out of her drive way. Mine was just sitting there on the road quietly minding it's own business. How I went about it is I went to a body shop and asked the guy to figure out a way to get this to be quoted under a thousand dollars. A thousand dollars being my cars value price with the insurance company.
So he did what he had to do with his computer and got me a quote for under that price. $850 to be exact. So talk to a few body shops and see if maybe they can help you out.
Hope that helps!

No problem! I've learned never to give up lol....lesson learned after owning an Mk2. Don't listen to these guys about the write off! You are allowed to get a quote from anywhere so check out a few places. The place that did mine was the Chrysler dealer on Hespeler Rd in Cambridge in case you were wondering but obviously you won't be traveling that far.
I think everyone just wants your Rims hahhaa. Good Luck and keep us updated.

Keep in mind the higher the estimate, the more likely your car is totalled. Based on the pictures, unless you've had this car appraised and insured fully on a higher value, it's toast. That B pillar got smacked real hard from what I can see.

. If I can't get them to repair it, or find a shop that will give me a cheaper quote so as to get the insurance to pay it, then I will be buying it back and swapping every part to a clean shell.

Want it fixed?
Get it out of ACE. I GUARANTEE you they will stroke the car - trust me on this - I know the shop well.
If you want it fixed, and can confirm she's paying - IM Me - there's a shop in Oakville, that will fix this. Again, TRUST ME.
IM is Key, Im here to help.
