I just vagcomed my car last night. Turned off the DRLs, seat belt chime, turned on window up/down with key fob, turned on some option with coming home feature and turned on Assistance Light (?).
I got into my car this morning and the instrument cluster lit up. Also, the door ajar light was not on when the door was open, but when I closed the door and turned the engine on, the door ajar light came on. When I was driving, the turn signals did not make their usual clicking noise, and the instrument cluster was still lit the whole time (switch was off btw). I turned the radio on (it was off when I got in the car, which is odd because I normally keep it on), but it would not turn off even when I took the keys out of the ignition. Parked the car, got out, and the instrument cluster is still lit.
Any ideas?

If you were thinking ahead, you copied down the original coding before you altered anything. Go back to that and see if the problems disappear.
If so, go back in and make your changes one at a time. Note the original value first to be able to undo anything that goes wrong. Be patient and test each one for correctness.

I dont think any rabbits come with the coming home feature.

yeah, i don't think you could do coming/leaving lights with out highline cluster.

Thanks for the input, fellas. Got it fixed. I disabled the coming home feature like some of you suggested. I also reset the whole car to make sure. Funny thing was, the tool showed no fault codes. But, all is well for now.

The 2009's have the highline cluster, don't they?
- Jeremy.

I looked up my number and it checks through as a midline. Same thing with my friend's.

My buddy has it coded on his 2007 rabbit. Problem is he has to read in 24 hour time and celsius temperature.
Also it's not really coming/leaving home without the sensor.

Naw...for some stupid reason, only SOME of the newer rabbits come with the highline.

you can make the temp an hr changes on the mfd and there is a spot on the vag-com for changing the leave/coming lights from auto(with sensor) to manual(with switch)

If the car doesn't have the highline (GTI/GLI/full-height) MFA, there's no way to change the units back. I love 24hr/C personally, so I didn't change it back, but honestly for Rabbit owners, you just have to get used to it. It doesn't take that long to acclimate, and metric/24hr makes more sense anyhow...
