Then find a slightly different area...or keep looking...NOW is the time to buy man...i just bought my first house in january. Plus if you buy a house this year you will get an 8,000$ tax credit. You can use that for more mods next year...or just save it.

I couldn't be more serious about this...i mean its your decision but ultimately (as much as i love cars and modding) you are going to lose money. Cars depreciate, After the parts (bags/wheels/turbo/etc) are used they are worth nearly as much as you paid for them....the house appricates....Plus currently (IMO) hose modding > car modding. I want some granite counter tops....

my current residense is my parents house(my father is very disabled and am helping him out as much as i can)...the neighborhood my parents live in is one of the nicer hoods in my town. I have been looking at other areas in town but most are houses that are 70+ yrs old that need alot of work(the cheap ones=150k+)
so i am looking but not truly finding what i want.

and technically i don't qualify for the first time buyers credit.
I own a condo that I rent out.

Even without the buyer credit thing, it's still a great time to buy a house. I know a guy who doesn't own a house, he rents an apartment north of Boston. He's a DJ (i.e. a musician who does't play an instrument) and an IT guy as a day job. He's absolutely rolling in money. But he doesn't own a house, or any property whatsoever. Still renting.
And he just sold his E46 M3 to buy a 996 911 Turbo.
Make sure your priorities are in the right place. A home is a good investment if you do it correctly. A car very seldom follows suit.

Holly Molly [sp?] Nick...I'll skip giving you praises on your GLI and go straight to the point...move down here, restaurants/bars aplenty, rent is cheap, even cheaper to own

In little time you can bag your baby with my help, then you can help me bag mine. BAG!

Looks amazing but I just have a quick newb question. How much suspension travel do you actually have without rubbing the front or rear wheels?

In the front...i dont rub at all and have plenty of travel.
the rear...well i rub...not bad. i am gonna pt some 1* camber shims in for the rear and that should take care of it.

thanks for the kind words guys...I am quite torn though.
i basically feel i am at an intersection in the road.
not really sure what route to go with the car

options
1. Bags
2. Big turbo(real real fast)
3. keep it this way and buy a house.
I am leaning more toward option 3...but it is kinda hard when houses in my area are 30% over priced.

But what do i know, I can't stop modifying the jetta

Next year though, I'm going to look around for a house/condo.

Your car looks so clean in those pictures. I bet the new lens helps.

thanks...lens doesn't really help, it just got me back into a hobby of mine. I kinda lost interest in taking photos and i have always like the look of really wide shots...so a new lens was able to get me back behind the lens

Nice shots! I really dig the headlight swap, but you should go back to the stock directional indicators to compliment them if you ask me. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Oh, and this:

personally this is my first super wide lens and i love it. crisp and clear and colors are great. i put a polarizer on it and wow let me tell you. the sky and clouds are amazing. i bought mine used for $350 and the polarizer new for $50.
I love it. haven't shot with the tokina though.
