sorry I have to ask again since I didn't get an answer. when I check my ac with the car on and ac all the way up, what should the pressure be? is it 17.4 or 34.8psi? bentley gives both and I am confused.

That's the pressure switch, opens at 17 and closes at 34. It disengages the compressor clutch below 17 and engages it back at 34. The pressure switch is on the high side, not the low side.
The low, or suction side, pressure measured on the cold fat a/c line should be about 30 - 40 lbs. The line should be cold, sweaty cold.
The high side, skinny hot line, should be about 100 lbs. more than the low side, about 145 lbs.
The temperature out the vents air should be aproximately well less than 50*F
