My co-worker is planning on buying a yellow SS w/ black stripes. I went on Friday to check it out for the fist time. Overall, I wasn't that impressed (then again, I didn't drive it). You definitely want the RS package IMO (the headlights look tons better). The interior had several ergonomic issues, most notably the steering wheel controls which are recessed to the point of having to take your hand at least partially off the steering wheel to use them which totally defeats their purpose. The round climate controls contain multiple tiny buttons and remind me of the ones in certain Toyotas (e.g. 4Runner, RAV4). The trunk opening is a complete joke, and the seats were neither terribly supportive nor comfortable.
If I were in the market for an American Pony/Muscle car I think I'd wait for the Ecoboost Mustang. Still, the Camaro does look great, and the build quality seems quite good overall.

Re: (Texan_Brandon)

I've seen a couple around. Funny thing is I've seen more Camaros driving around than Caliber SRT-4.
Another neat thing is I saw my very first live Caliber SRT-4 yesterday on the other side of the highway. I thought I'd never see one.
Local dealer had a yellow auto V6 RS. Wasn't there long, sticker was like $28,000.

Re: Anyone buy a 2010 Camaro yet? (curvedinfinity)

my buddies brother just got his. its an awsome car considering its a POS chevy but he used his launch control once in a parking lot, heard a loud bang and now the car won't move. it idles fine and goes in gear but it just wont go. it got towed to the dealer and they are going to get started on it tomorrow. ill keep you updated.

I have finally seen a couple, both going the other way on the highway, and I have but one thing to say...
Slurp.
I can't believe I'm typing this, but i may have one by the end of the year
If I fit that is.

i just saw a red one on the road a couple days ago for the first time.
The car has some street presence, i was very impressed. It was a nice red one.

What color was it?

Bueatiful car, but with the hype and demand, prices are way too high locally. That said, I will wait a few years before I consider buying one - which will be used.

I've seen a few on the road...waaaaay nicer than in pics

Agree with that. I've seen three in 76028. One black SS and two regular V6 models...I think (too far way to tell otherwise).

i saw a maroon one on the road the other day and a yellow one at a local dealer...sticker on the car was 24 and they wanted like 8000 more because of the demand for the car...

This is the kind of (ish) that gives the car biz a bad rap. I get capitalism and all, and supply & demand but cars should be sold like high demand phones & electronics. Whether there are two buyers or a million you still pay the MSRP not an inflated pack like a car dealership charges

Re: Anyone buy a 2010 Camaro yet? (curvedinfinity)

I saw two at the dealer a few weeks ago, both were sold (and probably sold months ago).
I've seen 3 or 4 different ones on the road in the last two weeks. A few of them I've seen more than once (an orange one and a red one with stripes).

Re: (Jetty!)

I went into a local dealer and they had an SS in the showroom. When I looked at the sticker, all seemed normal until I see another tacked on paper with their "dealer added values" for random stupid things like comemorative key chain ($65), and other stupid stuff. Then there was the $8000 "market value adjustment" that brought the total for the car up to $49K and change. I told the guy he was out of his mind and left.

Re: (jacobyb)

There's a red SS in the manager lot (company car) this morning. I'm sure it will have a crowd of lusting machismo-bloated Mexicans around it during lunch time.
Nice looking car. Still torn between grow-some-balls-and-just-buy-it SS and seriously-capable-yet-frugal V-6.

Wife says, "What kind of a wuss are you that you would consider a V-6. Gimme the SS!"
